Artificial intelligence can be of different types. Essential on the functions of the machine’s works the artificial intelligence types are getting defined on. For more complicated processes and machine functions you will require more complex artificial intelligences.

There are various types of artificial intelligence systems. I am going to describe the most frequently used ones.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence is a process of building intelligent human-like machines. The vast volumes of data are the main assets for constructing the machines. This is because systems can; learn from past mistakes and learning experiences and then perform human-like tasks.

Hence still now human-like artificial intelligence is a long way to go. These systems are running basis on specific algorithms. The target to build the machine is to provide almost human-like efforts.

Machine learning and deep learning mechanisms are helping to form the core of artificial intelligence. Here are the sectors where different types of artificial intelligence is used in.

What Are The Types Of Artificial Intelligence

On the basis of the functions, there are two types of artificial intelligence. Type one and type two.

Artificial Intelligence Type-1

In this part, three types of artificial intelligence are present narrow AI, general AI, and strong AI.

1. Narrow AI:

Narrow Ai is a type of AI that can perform a specific dedicated task. Apple Siri is developed with this programming. This is the most common type of AI which is frequently used in cellphones and any handheld devices. Often these technologies are also used in self-driving cars and other voice recognition gadgets.

2. General AI:

General AI is a type of artificial intelligence that can perform any intellectual task. These models have the efficiencies of humans. The idea of general AI is to make such a system that can be smarter and also can think like a human. But general AI is more like a myth. There is no such artificial intelligence that can do the work as perfectly as any human.

3. Super AI:

Super intelligent artificial intelligence means this intelligence can suppress human intelligence. And perform almost any task better than the human with cognitive properties. Unlike other artificial intelligence, this super AI can think and work like a human. Super AI is more like a hypothetical AI concept that is under development.

Artificial Intelligence Type-2

As I am differentiating between type one and two based on the Artificial intelligence functions. Here is type 2 artificial intelligence.

1. Reactive Machines

These types of artificial intelligence programs are used in the machines. These machines only focus on the current scenarios and react on the basis of the possibilities. Google alpha go is also an example of a reactive machine.

2. AI With Limited Memory

Reactive machines are performing basis on the current scenarios. But these AI machines have limited memory. On the basis of limited memories, these machines can take action and perform the task. Self-driving cars are the perfect example of this type of technology. These cars can save the recent car speed, obstacles, and distances from the other cars.

3. Theory of Human Mind

Theory of mind means the AI which has the capability to understand human emotions. And they are also able to interact like humans. This type of AI machine is still under development. As we all know there are no such machines that can work like a human and reciprocate human beliefs and communications.

4. Self-Aware AI

Self-awareness types of artificial intelligence are the future of artificial intelligence. These machines are super intelligent and have their own consciousness, sentiments, and self-awareness. These machines are smart and can work like a human mind. Self-awareness AI doesn’t exist at present. There are many hypothetical concepts associated with the concepts. This is also an ongoing process.

There are multiple types of artificial intelligence based on their functions. But most of the smartest artificial intelligence is still in the research process. For more complex processes you will need more complicated logic. But these two types are basic artificial intelligence types.
